Student support staff members at the STEM Academy work with STEM/SHS educators, administrators, families, students, and one another to meet the needs of our 7th & 8th grade students. While we work closely together to deliver tiered services, our specific roles and the ways in which we work with students differ, as noted below. If you are unsure which team member to contact, please begin with your child's school counselor or the main STEM Office at (508) 888-4900 x. 6201

- At the STEM Academy, each grade has a dedicated school counselor who "loops" with students as they move from 7th to 8th grade.
- School counseling services at the STEM Academy are designed to align with both national and state models for comprehensive and accountable school counseling programs. While services are tailored to specific student and classroom needs, all students at STEM are exposed to the school counseling curriculum. Counselor activities may include school-wide programming, grade or team-wide classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, individual student planning meetings, and collaborative consultation with administration, teachers, parents, and other student support personnel. School counselors' services are largely preventative in nature and span a wide range of topics, encompassing academic achievement, future planning, and social/emotional development.
